The Center for Teacher Education was established in September 1995 under the Provost’s Office of Academic Affairs of National Taiwan University (NTU). The purpose of the Center is to prepare and certify secondary school teachers. In academic year 2014, the Center was transferred from the Office of Academic Affairs to the Center for General Education. The Center enrolls more than 100 undergraduate (sophomore and above) and graduate students on average per academic year from all academic units within the University. The students trained by the Center have performed outstandingly in the teacher certification process with new graduates obtaining higher qualification rates than the national average. Almost 80% of graduates continue their careers in accordance with their area of study at NTU.
