1. This 2-credit course is offered as a small class with limited seats in the hope that students can have frequent interaction with the instructor and get firsthand experience being immersed in professional academic life. Class time is not limited to the traditional schoolroom and any space agreed upon as suitable for creating a comfortable atmosphere conducive to learning and nurturing a sense of belonging may be used. 2. The course is open to freshman only. There is no prerequisite. Freshman can take only one seminar per term; in spring term, those freshmen who don’t take a freshman seminar during fall term have priority to be enrolled in a seminar course in the spring semester. 3. The usual grading system isn’t applied to this course. Instead, “pass” or “no pass” will be shown on the transcript of the student’s academic record. 4. A participating student’s affiliated department has the final say on whether the credits earned from this course can be counted toward the student’s coursework.
