
National Taiwan University has established the Royal Palm Lecture Series as a campus-wide special lecture series to broaden students' and faculty's perspectives. This series invites distinguished scholars and professionals from domestic and international backgrounds in academia or industry who have demonstrated exceptional achievements or global impact to deliver speeches and participate in academic exchanges at the university. Mr. Chris Lin, Chairman & President, ASPEED Technology, will give the inaugural lecture. All university members are encouraged to participate enthusiastically.

● Introduction:
Mr. Chris Lin, Chairman and President of ASPEED Technology, has over 30 years of experience in the IC design industry. He began his career at Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) in 1993, where he built a multimedia R&D team and later, in 2003, led the spin-off of XGI Technology as General Manager. In 2004, Mr. Lin founded ASPEED Technology and dedicated the company to developing baseboard management controller (BMC). Under his leadership, ASPEED acquired Broadcom’s Emulex Pilot™ BMC SoC business in 2016, becoming the world’s largest BMC SoC provider.
Mr. Lin’s achievements have earned widespread recognition, including the Distinguished Alumnus Award from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (2020), the Outstanding ICT Elite Award and the Outstanding Alumnus Award from National Tsing Hua University (2021), the ERSO Award (2023), and the title of Best CEO in Asia from Extel (formerly Institutional Investor) in 2023 ~ 2025.
