The NTU Raymond Soong Chair Professorship of Distinguished Research was established in 2023 through the generous endowment of Mr. Raymond Soong, founder of Lite-On Group. Since 2025, NTU and Academia Sinica have jointly advanced the TAIWAN BRIDGES Program, bringing together twelve academic and research institutions across Taiwan in collaboration with the International Peace Foundation (IPF). From 2025 to 2026, the program brought 31 Nobel Laureates to Taiwan for a series of lectures and academic exchanges. Through cross-institutional, interdisciplinary, and international collaboration, the program has fostered knowledge exchange and scholarly dialogue, strengthened connections with the international academic community, and marked a remarkable milestone for Taiwan’s academic community.

This event marks the Commencement of the “TAIWAN BRIDGES Program – Nobel Laureate Lecture Series.” Representatives from participating government, academic, and research institutions will come together under the theme “回顧成果.共話未來” to share their experiences and accomplishments throughout the program. A digital showcase featuring introductory videos and the program website will revisit highlights from the lecture series. An exhibition area will also present achievements from participating institutions, offering different perspectives on the valuable experiences and records accumulated throughout the program.

The event will conclude with “未來序曲” bringing together shared aspirations for what lies ahead and underscoring that the Commencement is not merely a reflection on past achievements, but also a starting point for continued exchange and collaboration. All NTU faculty, staff, and students are warmly invited to join us in celebrating the achievements and memorable journey of the TAIWAN BRIDGES Program, and in opening a new chapter of academic exchange that reaches across disciplines and strengthens connections with the international community.
