Center for General Education

FAQs

  • Q9: What actions must the home department take after a proposal is approved?
    • 2026-07-28

A9 : Once a course is approved by the Center and established within the General Education curriculum, the home department is then responsible for creating the course profile in the course system as a General Education course. Please follow the timelines published by the University's Curriculum Division.

  • Q10: What should a department do if the deadline to create a new course profile arrives before they receive the Center’s final review outcome?
    • 2026-07-28

A10 : If the Center's review timeline overlaps with the Curriculum Division's system setup deadlines, departments should proceed with prospectively creating the course profile by the Curriculum Division's deadline. Once the Center releases the review outcome, the department can file for retrospective course modifications if necessary. These potential modifications may include updating the course title, modifying the selected General Education area, or canceling the course setup if the proposal was declined.

  • Q11: What actions should a department take if a course profile has already been created, but the final review outcome returns as "Approved Pending Revision" or "Declined"?
    • 2026-07-28

A11 : Please submit a modification request to the University's Curriculum Division.
